Postdoctoral fellowship for developing Methodology for Gastric Cancer Diagnosis

>Postdoctoral fellowship for developing Methodology for Gastric Cancer Diagnosis

Applications are invited for a joint postdoctoral fellowship between the Glycotechnology (Reichardt) and the Carbon Nanobiotechnology (Prato) labs at CIC biomaGUNE to develop quantitative methodology for the detection of gastric cancer serum markers by MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry. Gastric cancer is one of the most malignant diseases worldwide largely due to a lack of methodology for its early stage diagnosis. This project will focus on the development of a MALDI-TOF MS based analysis platform for the trapping and quantitative detection of glycan and glycopeptide biomarkers from serum samples. The project is further supported by Asparia Glycomics an early stage diagnostics company developing methodology for the detection of clinical glycan biomarkers, Graphenea a premier supplier of graphene based products and two high profile academic collaborators from Portugal and Sweden. The contract offered is initially limited to 1 year, but extension up to 3 years is possible subject to satisfactory results during the pilot phase.
